The Effects of Sling Exercise on Gross Motor Function of Children with Motor Development Disability

Abstract
Objective: This study examined the effects of sling exercise on children with motor development disability of gross motor functions.

Method: One children with motor development disability were sling exercise training. Sling exercise training was applied thirty minutes each time, three times per week, for 12 weeks. Neuro-development treatment training was applied thirty minutes each time, three times per week, 12 weeks. Gross Motor Function Measure(GMFM), Gross Motor Performance Measure(GMPM), Pediatric Evaluation of Disability Inventory(PEDI) were used as measurement tools.

Result: There was no significant difference in GMFM, GMPM, PEDI between the sling exercise and Neuro-development treatment.

Conclusion: Sling exercise is considered an efficient training method to enhance children with motor development disability for gross motor function.
